A mock-rebrand of the classic and historic San Francisco rock n’ roll venue, The Great American Music Hall. The Great American Music Hall, voted #6 best rock venue in America by Rolling Stone Magazine in 2013, is the oldest rock venue in San Francisco. In this rebrand, I wanted to design a new logo which would bring a modern and elegant feel to this historic venue. Visual inspiration for the design of the logo came from the curvature motifs, which are repeatedly seen within the interior design, building facade, and signage. The new logo also brings in the curved motifs seen in music symbols, such as the treble and bass clef. The rebrand incorporates the deep burgundy coloring of the building’s facade, along with the gold found within the interior murals of The Great American Music Hall.

PROCESS
During the design process, I experimented with decorative logos that aesthetically mimicked the intricate facade and interior of the music venue. Ultimately, I decided that a more simplistic design would read better visually, and would also bring a more contemporary and sophisticated feel to the venue's rebrand.
